My First Color Challenge at Global Scrappers!

For the first challenge I have two pictures to inspire you! They are taken from Southern Living Magazine!
The colors are: At least two tones of GREEN, WHITE, BROWN and a touch of PINK.

I used 2 sheets of Basic Grey PP, and made the sand castle, turtles and sea shells using my Cricut Cartridge I can't remember which one now! ha.. Hope you can come play with us!

I was so sad when I found out this is the last sketch challenge for Sketchy Thursdays, I have so enjoyed the sketches whenever I had a chance to work on them! And YES, that was the BEST photo I had and the ONLY one of the 3 of us of these past holidays! So it was take it or leave it.. Bella did not want to be held.. Marc was impatient.. haha.. so there it goes!This also goes hand in hand with Bo Bunny's Inspiration Photo! I used this collection which best portayed the colors in that photo!

I was busy taking down and putting up Christmas Decorations on Friday... Organized my scrap room on Saturday.. so Sunday I said that's IT and I NEED to sit down and scrap! The Paper Variety!

Here is my first challenge for the Paper Variety after being on the DT for a lovely 6 months! Here is the layout I created for this challenge! Black and White with a TOUCH of color! I am determined to scrap our babymoon pictures.. so hope to get some more out soon!

I couldn't find the journaling strip I wanted to use (it is SOMEWHERE) but I got tired looking then decided to just journal in the white harlequin diamonds!

Challenge day at Citrus Tree Studio!!!

Today is finally challenge day at Citrus Tree Studio!! I have been anxious for days! I am the Guest Designer for January! YAY!!!! The valentine kit "Forever Mine, Valentine" was FABULOUS to work with and you get so much out of it!!!

My challenge is an AD Inspiration! Here is the Magazine Clipping... and below my take on it! A little different for me, but I liked how it turned out! Definitely different!!

I have never really cut out a photo before! So this was a first for me!!!

Close UP!

This heart came in the KIT also! I painted it red with Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint.. then used a stamp and pearl white dabber to add a pattern onto the heart. I added a doily, ribbon, pin and flower from my stash.

Sketchy Thursdays!

Here is my take on the 01.05.12 sketch!! The background paper is Bo Bunny I believe. I used Bazzill Cardstock and used my Cuttlebug to emboss the green piece of paper with the "wood grain" folder. I pop dotted the Thickers onto a blue piece of card stock to pop out the color. I doodled around the edges and used some misc doilies and bling! I has a lot of green and blue doilies, I guess I don't use those too often!

Goldfish filled Ornaments for Toddler Class!

I never got a great picture of my gold fish ornaments for Isabella's Class! I used plastic ornaments from Michael's.. painted red and green circles on them with Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint.. Used a special pen to personalize all the ornaments and added a bow and a nice decorative "pin" not sure what those things are called to hang them in the tree... lol.. I also added 2011 on the back of them and then filled them with GOLDFISH! This was about a 3 day process to let the paint dry, then fill up.. then place in the container to take to school.. it was not too bad once you have everything...

2011 was a crazy year scrapping.. I started getting my MOJO back in February after Isabella was born, and started making LAYOUTS again for a change after sticking to CARDS alone for 1 year! I so enjoyed the layouts that I didn't make as many cards since! Crazy huh??!!

2011 would also be the year that 2 of my layouts of Isabella (pink and so girly) would be taken offline to be published!!! So hopefully by May I will have 2 layouts in All About Baby-Create It Book!

I started rough and then got obsessed with clusters.. the rose trim... and DOILIES!!!! Yes, I order the doilies all the way from Australia on Etsy! and I Can't get enough of them!!!! Prima flowers and bling are still a favorite as well!

Here are a few of my favorites that always stand out and that might be framed or displayed at my house!

Reveal Day at Citrus Tree Studio!!

I am honored this month to be Guest Designer at Citrus Tree Studio! The January Kit "Forver Mine, Valentine" was awesome to work with! There was so much stuff it was hard to make up my mind! I initially created 3 projects and have more to come! Don't miss the actual challenge day on the 10th!!!

Here are my projects 99.5% made with the fabulous kit!

I did use my own frame and paint, mini white pins, and Zva bling for this frame..
This is a gift frame for my dad for Christmas.. LOVE OPA...

I used white pearl dabber for the LOVE stamp. I also used white pen for doodling. Fuzzy cut some paper.. pop dotted the first part of the title.

I won't be doing much scrapping from now until the end of the year.. but hope to next week some! So let's see how things go! I have 3 more frames to make as gifts. My attempt to make home made gifts back fired since I don't have much time, and it ended up costing more probably I stopped keeping track.. lol..

Here is our Christmas Card I designed with Echo Park Digi Paper/Elements! This was my first ever attempt to design our Christmas Cards from scratch, of course I had about 3 versions at least but hubby liked this one the best, which was my first attempt. I printed them out at Costco and the print quality was amazing!

I enjoyed this tag! I used bo bunny paper, went over it with pearl dabber.. and then maya pearl mist.. I cut out the hollies with the Cricut and did several layers of paint and ink.. crumbled them up..used red bling spheres as my berries..and some misc ribbon and lace.. used a rub on that says Merry Christmas from Bo Bunny, on Kraft cut it out, and used ink around the edges and on top!

Tim Holtz- Tag 5

Here is my 5th tag! I did not have any fancy stamps or embossing plates so I knew exactly what paper to used for this tag! I believe it was from the 12 days of Christmas line.
I used my Cricut to cut out the wreath with Joys of the Season. I did a few cuts on it, regular, blackout and layers, with two shades of green. I applied white dabber on the bottom piece, and added brown ink around the edges. I then added ink to the edges of the top piece, and then again added dabber on the layer pieces and bent my leaves to give it an effect. I then applied some more glimmer mist, and sprinkled some white glitter on it. Then used some red and white pearls, and added a bow I had in my stash. Used my white tulle and inked the tag itself some before applying the wreath! I cut out 3 more! SO I will have a total of 4 tags like this and will add some sentiment to it to give away.

This tag took me FOREVER!! WoW!! I couldn't find my spackled paint since my DD has been playing around with it.. so I used spackled accents instead didn't give me the same effect but will have to do. I used my cricut to cut out the snowman, and also the number 25. I embossed the blue paper, and painted the snowflakes so they can stand out. I later added glossy accents on my number 25, luckily had some tulle from my tutu making extravaganza.. and found some bling buttons in my stash... I embossed some clear plastic, cut it out, and used pearl white dabber... I found a snowflake chipboard to add on top and painted it blue ish before adding some spackled accents on it. I also took a stamp swirl and used peal dabber on it, it's on the top right corner!

Here is my 3rd tag! Wow.. I did not have ANY stamp, embossing folder to do this with, so I was lucky enough to find this paper! I cut out the goodies with the Cricut!

This tag was simpler than the first tag.. I used music paper, and cut out the reindeer with Winter Woodlands. I FLOCKED the reindeer and tied a bell around it's neck and added some gold stickles, used some burlap cut it up, and added it on to the top.. I used MS punch and Misc glitter ribbon for the bottom.. and used some distressed ink to go over the background. I added some pearl glimmer mist but very faint.

Here is my take on the first TH Tag! I could not find my cuttelebug snowflake embossing folder ANYWHERE so after an unsuccessful trip to Michaels I found the TH ones at Joann's. I bought some jewerly bling that was on sale.. used my Cricut for the PEACE cutout and also the leaves.. I then glittered them with my Martha Stewart glitter, went over the blue embossed paper with some white pearl dabber, then sanded it some. I went with a paint brush over the sides with stained tea distressed ink...I made my "pine cones" out of brown tissue paper...I used some music paper and distressed it some...

All Dressed Up

I just got these awesome crocheted trims last week from Australia and HAD to put them to use! I don't use my cuttlebug enough, so have been keeping it out to use more!

Where is Bella??

Had a lot of fun with this layout it's an explosion of colors! I used two hand made flowers on this layout! I got to use some scraps I had laying around. Used a hand punch for some circles, and embossed my strips..as you already know I am obsessed with these doilies.. ;-) I also got into the ripping and distressing of paper...

Merry Christmas! I got the candle stickers for $0.63 at Michael's on Wednesday...

As I started this layout I knew I wanted to scrap this recent photo of our 8th Wedding Anniversary, but how could I leave out our daughter, so I said THANKFUL FOR FAMILY ;-)

Sweet Daughter of Mine!!

I just made this girly girl layout of some pics I took of Isabella's Easter Photo shoot back in APRIL!! These were perfect for the Sketchy Thursdays and PV Challenges this week! I used a plain purple Bazzil CS backing.. I sprayed it some with glimmer mist, used Misc paper from my stash, and used several Prima flowers and goodies! I also did a lot of distressing!

Here is my layout for this week's fabulous challenge over at The Paper Variety! I have been wanting to scrap this photo of Marc and Bella for a while (it was taken back in MAY) and finally had the right challenge for it!!! I just loved how they were "horsing around" having a blast.. tons of laughter..

I actually POPPED UP the title, but can't find the close up pictures now to show it.. but the title is on big Pop Dots off the page.. I used some Making Memories paint, the main white 12 x 12 sheet is Bazzil, and I used Echo Park Country Drive paper! I added some American Craft Rose Trim, Doilies, Bling, and some fringe...

So that's our challenge this week! Create a humorous layout, card, or altered project. Something that brings a chuckle!

TU TU for YU! Lady Bug DIY Costume!

I made my first tutu last week!! I was SOOO excited!! My dreams were crushed when my cats knocked it off the table and peed on it, but DH was able to wash it with VINEGAR and it was all good.. I was about to kill a cat!! I was crying and started cutting up the tutu until DH came and told me to wash it! I didn't think it was possible with the black pom poms, but it worked!!

I did end up using 2 spools of 22yd of red tulle.. 3/4" elastic band, and lots of measuring and I had to adjust and sew the band 2x! I bought red pom poms, and sewed a ribbon bow on the front! I ordered the wings on Amazon and it came with the headband! I bought BOA and added it to the wing using hot glue.. I made a wand that I want to add some ribbon strands too.. a black shirt at Hobby Lobby, and I had some black leggings I used, but I picked up some black tights at Target!
Here is the final product! I had a lot of fun with my first tutu!!!

Before the cats knocked it off.. I was in the process of glueing the black pom poms...

After the cats knocked it and it was washed! I added more pom poms after taking this photo!

I liked the simplicity of the sketch for Sketchy Thursdays GDT spot! I figured what the hell, won't hurt.. ;-) I had all the paper out already, and got to scrap this recent picture of the 3 of us! I enjoyed working on this card last Friday! haha.. just now getting to post it.. it's been a hectic weekend with a sick baby and hubby! But here is my take on the sketch! I used We R Memory Keepers Paper, Krafty Card Stock, Bo Bunny "Newspaper" like paper... I made a tag to add my list... the only requirement for this was to add at least 5 leaves, and list what you are grateful for!

New week at The Paper Variety!!

This week's challenge over at the Paper Variety is a RECIPE challenge!!! YAY!!! I enjoyed working on this layout, and actually finished it before I HAD the photo!!! I was anxiously waiting for UPS to deliver my Shutterfly package, and NOTHING!! Friday is my time to scrap when my daughter naps, and UPS usually comes around 11-12! Well not LAST Friday, they came at 4.55PM!! OMG!! Talk about heart attack.. I knew more or less which picture I wanted to scrap.. so that was no biggy! But here is my layout!

I used We R Memory Keepers line, LOVE IT!! I cut out the pumpkin with my Cricut, I had to make 3 cuts for the layers, then used my Cuttlebug to emboss it. I also punched a scalloped circle, and cut out some leaves with my Cricut. I put a Prima Flower on it, and I believe the ruler is from Tim Holtz but not 100% sure... I used a 6x6 sheet out of Crate Paper's Paper Pad and some Bazzill Card Stock.. Misc doilies I got from Etsy all the way from Australia...burlap and some misc buttons and ribbon I had in my stash!

Sketchy Thursdays- Sketch 10-13

I enjoyed working on this week's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays! I fuzzy cut a sheet of paper.. matted my picture like it's a poloroid, and added some prima bling and used liquid pearls to add some more touches to my layout! I used Lost and Found II LOVE that line... ;-)

I made some time last night to finish this layout so of course the picture was taken at night, but that's all the time I had to do it! I had started on Monday, but never got to do much with it! I went the simple route with it.. I pulled my glimmer mist out, used Bo Bunny Paper, my misc doilies, thickers I mixed up, and some lace I had from my stash, I cut out a circle using my Cricut Plantain Schoolbook Cartridge... I also added a butterfly, and some prima bling, and a maya road butterfly pin! I have been wanting to scrap these fun pictures for a while and this was the perfect opportunity!

This week's challenge over at The Paper Variety is another fun challenge! You need to include a Forest Friend on your project! I made a picture frame using my Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge and made a girly girl pink hootie, with some fabulous bling! I had a lot of fun altering this plain picture frame I got at Michael's. I also got to paint around the edges before getting started! I can't wait to see what you do this week!!!

Hi there! This is my first sketch for Sketchy Thursdays! I had a lot of fun with this sketch and will be creating another page for it to make it a double!
I used Lost and Found TWO from My Minds Eye, Crocheted Doilie from Australia, Prima Flower, Thickers, I made 2 pins with beads, and used some prima bling. I also made some swirls using liquid pearl.

I made a Christmas Card! Can't start soon enough right???!! I used a digital stamp, my first ever, and colored it using simple pencils and some markers. I added some ribbon, bling, rub on sentiment and voila!

I distressed the outside edges, and the 6x6 and photo mat.. I inked the edges and over the page..I also washed the paper some with beige paint, and the Musical Paper was from the new MME Lost and Found TWO... I also had fun making the pins, I bought all sorts of beads yesterday...

Owl Themed First Birthday Party!! Isabella is ONE!

My baby girl turned 1 on Saturday! Where has the year gone???!!! I cannot believe it.. we had an amazing year and it was so much fun planning for her party!
I started designing the invitations back in May, and worked on the labels for the cupcakes, and everything else! I bought a digital scrapbook kit for $3 that I used to make all the graphics! I thoroughly enjoyed it and thank all the help I got pulling it together the last few days!
Here are some highlights! We had a blast!

Cricut, several cartridges and mainly Create a Critter for the owls.

I used the digital scrapbook kit to create the cupcake toppers, and the signs, and invitations.. I got them printed at Office Depot, and cut them out.

Tic Tac Toe Challenge at The Paper Variety this week!!!

Come and join me this week for a fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge over at The Paper Variety! This week was such a fun challenge and I had such a hard time choosing my challenge!
I chose the top horizontal row! Stitching, Multi photo layout, Journaling strips...

Here is my layout!!

I used misc prima flowers, coredinations sandable paper which I lightly sanded, EK Success butterfly punch, then used the punch outs and popped them up with bling on the back, I did 3 stitched swirls in 3 different colors.. I also used my cuttlebug to swirl emboss the white paper behind the photo's too bad you can't see much of it.. I used Websters Rose Trim as well.. The doilies are all the way from Australia! I have been obsessed with them!! I matted my journaling strips, and I tucked in misc bling.. I also used My Minds Eye twine, and tried to pop up the title (Thickers) but since my photo's were already up some, it didn't quite pop up.. I finished the edge of the title with the doilie punch from Martha Stewart and added the purple bling along the edge.. I had a lot of fun!

I am still making all of Isabella's meals to take to school or eat when we go out or visit relatives. I did stop pureeing her lunch/dinners but still do with her breakfast for now until I fins some other thing she's interested in. I do give her scrambled eggs and bread with cream cheese and fruit weekends, but so far for school the pureed fruit and cereal seems to work great!
I add orzo or pasta starts now to add texture to her meals. This week she also had some mashed potato/brocolli/carrot/cheese mixture that was a little ticker. She eats dinner with us when it's something suitable for baby!

Another Pasta Sauce:

Regular meatsauce that we ate, but to make things easier I used pasta stars instead of spaghetti..

Orzo/Brocolli/Leeks/Zucchini/Edam (SEE RECIPE BELOW FOR PASTA RISOTTO/ORZO)

Another Pasta Sauce:

Chicken/Apple/Orzo/Leeks:

This was also a hit! Chicken/Brocolli/Edam Cheese Sauce and I think one more item I am forgetting!

The recipe for the latter:
1/4 lb chicken breast chopped and cooked... I used one or two chicken breasts..
1 cup brocolli cut small.. steam brocolli...(I steamed in Brezza and did some more Brocoli than specified)
Cheese sauce.. EDAM-1/2 cup shredded edam... 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp flour I used all organic ingredients except the EDAM..
Put butter in sauce pan.. 1 min.. then put the flour 2 min.. mix... slowly poor 1- 1/4 cup milk (whole milk)... whisk.. the sauce will get thick... until it boils... Then take from heat then mix in shredded cheese.. chop chicken small a size you are comfy for your baby to eat... and the brocolli also.. mix well and that's it...
I also made about 2-3 tbsp of Pasta Stars that I bought at Whole Foods, and mixed it in to give it more substance! Was an instant hit!

Finished product ready for school!

Isabella also likes fresh honeydew and cantaloupe...

Now with mom here she's been getting fresh fruit purees every morning.. mango/strawberry/banana- cantaloupe/strawberry- and misc mixed berries!

Pasta Risotto (Orzo)
1/2 cup orzo or small pasta shapes
1 medium carrot peeled and diced small
1 medium zucchini diced small
3/4 cup chopped brocolli florets tiny cut as you want your baby to eat it
1 tbsp unsalted butter (I used organic or OO)
1/2 cup grated Cheddar I used EDAM it's creamier.. or a mix of Edam and Cheddar..
I have added FINELY chopped Leeks in here also.. but FINE

Put the orzo in sauce pan with carrot and cover with boiling water cook for 5 min
(watch it so it does not burn)
Add zucchini and brocolli and cook for 7 more min.
Melt the butter in another saucepan, stir in the drained orzo and veggies and toss with cheese and butter until cheese has fully melted. You can eye ball the cheese amount...

I was busy again last week with baby food! Isabella eats "table food" also when I cook.. so she has tried different textures, but this is easy for school during the week!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Whole Foods. It's a 10 min drive for me, while Publix is 2 min away, BUT I am so in love with all the organic stuff, it's not even funny! I pay pretty much the same I did at Publix..and get awesome organic and local grown stuff.. yesterday for one I paid less than for a week at Publix and got meats, veggies, fruit, bread for a week!

I have gotten more info couponing.. but still not near the point where I eat for free.. haha.. Here are some helpful sites I am on on Facebook!

I have been making all of Isabella's food.. and we just recently started her on some table food. I always cook 99-100% organic for her, and have been doing it for us also now.. I even use organic butter sometimes.. haha..It is amazing what you can find at Whole Foods, though not close I tend to go there on Fridays to pick up some organic goodies and meat..

Here are a few a made recently.. So far Isabella's favorite is called "Veggie Medley", it was Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Spinach in it. You can also throw in Apples.. or Green Beans.. I have use the stove for this as well as my Baby Brezza..

So far she eats all mixed veggies and fruit, since she's not fond of applesauce, I made apples/pears for example.. her latest favorite fruit mix has been strawberries/peaches/apple...

Here are some recent ones..
Blueberries/Pear/Peach (very watery had to mix with rice cereal)

I have graduated her from the 2.5 oz containers 2 weeks ago to the 4oz containers..
She gets 4oz of fruit mixed in with 2 tbsp of rice cereal every morning.. and 4oz of veggie at lunch.. I started a snack for yoghurt and fruit in the mid afternoon, and at night she sometimes eats some table foods with us.. so far she loved grabbing and eating asparagus, but anything from chicken to pork chops, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potato, bread.. she's also had egg in the morning where she ate 3/4 of it..

I used two prima butterflies, Prima Bling, Prima Flower, can't remember the paper right now, but I believe it's Echo Park! I also distressed all the egdes.. and used Thicker Alpha...

April Calendar Challenge at Challenge Masters!

I am not the Calendar Diva at Challenge Masters! Please come and JOIN me!

For my first calendar challenge I want you to create a layout with an event that happened in March! It could be a trip to the park, grocery store, getting a new car, trip to coffee shop, meeting with friends, just some event in your daily life! Just needs a date in March as well on it as part of the journaling!

I had two special events in March, Marc's 32nd Birthday and our first Picnic! I included a sample of both! Sorry for the bad pics, my Canon T2i was not working.. My Picnic sample is not as elaborate because Isabella was waking up and very fussy.. so I just threw some buttons on and called it quits...

One lucky participant will also get a RAK from me!

Chopped Week 4!

Chopped Week 4 was due on Saturday! Isabella took a nice 2.5 hour nap on Friday so I was able to clean up and scrap... it's raining, so the light sucked... I used lime green, paint, yellow, scallops, dimensional flowers and white.... I used coredinations paper, cricut paper, Martha Stewart Scalloped Punch, American Crafts Rose Trim, misc Bling, making memories paint, ranger distressed paint, crystal pearls, Prime crystal trim, and misc American Kraft doilies...I painted chip board square and heart, added mini pins, white bazzil cardstock for the picture matting, and I added white doillie rub ons on the paper on top.... I used two type of thicker alpha's...

I love making Isabella her babyfood! I have a Baby Brezza that mom got me, and LOVE IT!! I just cut the veggies or fruit, and then it steams and blends in one! Some foods I can set it to blend on its own... so an awesome little machine!
Here are some foods...Isabella's favorites so far are Prunes, Zucchini, Nectarines.. she also likes bananas.. least favorite Butternut Squash you can see the look on her face in one of the below pics... I started some mixtures this past week.. Turkey/Prune/Thyme was not a success... Pears/Carrots were, since carrots alone she was not fond of!

Yoghurt Making and some mixed Puree Baby Food!

I did my first attempt to make yoghurt this weekend! It turned out pretty good, I added strawberries in mine this morning! As soon as I try this batch, I will start giving it to Isabella! It wasn't all that bad! I also attempted my first real mixed baby food.. the recipe called for Leeks, Sweet Potatoes, Peas and Spinach! Isabella ate it really good so far! I also attempted a Prune/Apple mix... she will try that at school today....
